"AHURIRI SEA"©
Music and Lyrics by Narelle Worboys

There's a place by the sea
Where love has gathered me.
In the swell of the shore
Beauty captures me and more.
With water and light
Dancing ever day and night,
It's a place
Where my heart beats rest in grace.

Ah...
It's a place
Where my heart beats rest in grace.

"A LOVE LIKE THIS"©
Music and Lyrics by Narelle Worboys

As a hand is joined in hand,
Vowing love eternally,
See a woman and a man
Unite in faith and harmony.
We proclaim this beauty
As the artistry of God,
And this picture of fidelity
Designed by Christ the Lord.

It was the Lord's way.
They did as He directed.
It was the Lord's way.
By Him it was perfected.
They would not be here today
Were they not His.
It was their lives surrendered
Into His care
That enabled His perfect will
To create a love like this.

"ANZAC REVERIE"©
Music and Lyrics by Narelle Worboys

Anzac Reverie
For you and me
At dawn and at nine,
Blasting storm or balmy shine.
Remember the ones who've gone before,
Praying for peace and fighting war.

Chorus:
For them not surrender, that easier peace price,
But defend freedom, uphold the right.
Who chose what's right and what free?
Above us the Highest Authority.

Anzac Reverie
For you and me
At noon, and when the light
Begins to fade into the night.
Remember the ones who've gone before,
The truth that they fought and died for.

Repeat Chorus

Anzac Reverie
For you and me.
Lest we, lest we forget.

"BLESSING #2"©
Music and lyrics by Narelle Worboys

May the year ahead
Its blessings shed
With love and joy and peace.
May God to you
Give strength that through
Each trial your smile won’t cease.
Ah….

"FARM ALARM"©
Lyrics by Narelle Worboys [Tune of Baa Baa Black Sheep]

[Howl]

Old MacDonald had a farm,
But it's been stolen. We're alarmed.
Thieves are locking up our land.
Regulations out of hand.
Growing food is being banned.
Howl a protest -- save our land.

[Howl]

Young MacDonald grew some fruit,
But pickers cannot pick the loot.
Ma MacDonald cannot shoot
Pigs and rabbits not so cute.
Rules of reason have been canned.
Howl a protest -- save our land.

[Howl]

Baa baa black sheep can't have wool
'Cause farming isn't workable.
Tradies cannot drive a ute --
Charge disaster down that route.
For our country we all stand.
Howl a protest -- save our land.

[Howl]

"MY BELOVED, HE HAS GONE AWAY"©
Lyrics by Narelle Worboys (Music: "Pokarekare Ana")

[Verse]
My beloved, he has gone away,
Gone to fight a freedom war,
Enduring dangers night and day.
I fear he may return no more.

[Chorus]
Evil tears the world apart.
Is there courage in my heart
To march on ‘til victory?
Oh God,
Bring him safe to me.

[Chorus repeat]
I want him here
Holding me near.
I love him, I love him so.
Help me let him go.

"PRECIOUS"©
Music and Lyrics by Narelle Worboys

There are many drops of water in the ocean;
Many grains of sand upon the beach;
Many stars shine in the heavens;
Many souls dwell on the earth.
Yet in the vastness of this universe,
The God who made it all knows your name.
The God who made it all knows your name,
And whispers from a tender heart,
You are special,
You are precious,
You are loved.

"TEACH ME TO BE A WOMAN"©
Music and Lyrics by Narelle Worboys

What has happened to this world?
I’m an isolated girl
in the middle of a crowd of women who live in silence.
I know they know things I want to know,
but I don’t know what those things might be.
Will you show me now, model how to live as a woman should be?
What do you know, what have you learned,
what did someone else teach you that you could teach me?
Show me now, teach me how
to be a wise, loving, modest, graceful, beautiful, radiant woman.
Share your life with me. Share your life with me.
Don’t make me learn life on my own.
Teach me to be a woman.

POETRY

"A LITTLE THANK-YOU NOTE"©
Poem by Narelle Worboys

The roses are orange. The paper is blue.
Their purpose today is to send thanks to you:
Thanks for the pumpkin, the pizza, the cake,
The laughs, and the love, and the effort you make.
This note may be small and the words in it few,
But I hope it conveys all my thanks to you.

"BON VOYAGE!"©
Poem by Narelle Worboys

For little Katrina a little adage
To wish her a happy bon-bon voyage.
Brave Scotland hulloo!
– here she comes!
<Roll a tat-tat-tattoo
on those glorious drums>
She has stuffed to the gills
that monstrosity pack –
That thing – yes, that thing –
that’s all purple and black,
And so bulky and large
It would do for a barge.
Oh, do not bring me home
An Irish blarney stone.
A handsome Scottish Mac
Will earn a pat upon your back.
If you find a charming kilt
With a brogue and merry lilt,
Lure him doon fra’ heath and highland –
To a cosy hearth and home in my land.
The wind has changed – your ship must sail.
(You’re hearing bagpipes on the gale.)
My dear, enjoy the highland games:
But to your home come back again.
I bid you adieu,
And wave toodle-oo –
Bon voyage – farewell –
From your sister, Narelle.

"MEDITATION I"©
Poem by Narelle Worboys

When the sky becomes heavy, the clouds overcast,
Then the blue is obscured and the sun can't get past.
It depresses me. Teach me to look at the sky,
Undismayed by the sight of my physical eye,
Lord, but rather, inspired by that God-given sight,
Learn to live and to bask in that God-given light --
Holy light which was purchased for me with a price
That I never could pay -- Calvary's blood sacrifice
For my sin. Oh, such love, such great love have we none
But what poured forth for all from the God-given Son.
Though life's sky become dark, this great love will remain:
I must focus my eyes on the love, not the rain;
I must learn not to doubt, but to temper the view,
For beyond the black clouds, sky will always be blue.

"REFLECTIONS OF A TRAVEL GUIDE"©
Poem by Narelle Worboys

Folks that travel
Always cavel
About the saddle
Or the paddle.
They complain
About the rain
And their seat
Or their feet.
These moans
Have horrid tones,
For Travel is the essence
Of this great Experience.
If you wish to spread your wings,
Learn to cope with all these things.
Never try
To fly
While bewailing
How you're sailing.
If you have sufficient dough
To hire a boat in which to row,
Then row! Hey, jolly row, and well,
For think of all the tales to tell.
And if you're honest and a right one,
You'll admit it was delight-fun
Just to be
And see
And do,
No matter what you went through.

"TREASURE HUNT"© (for a 21st Birthday)
Poem by Narelle Worboys

There’s a treasure hunt awaiting you, my darling. Yes, indeed!
In your hand you hold the map and the first clue you will need.
Each clue will find a stepping stone that marks a year for you –
Some part of life you’ve lived, significant to you.
Twenty stones there are, then the twenty-first, a chest
That bears your name, marks completion of this game,
But not your life – here’s wishing you the BEST
For all the splendid rest of life’s treasure-hunting quest.
