The entire nation of New Zealand is in shock over the earthquake disaster in Christchurch on 22 February 2011. We're grieving for the victims, we're wondering why did we escape, how can we help, is there hope amongst the rubble?
Abide with me. Fast falls the eventide.
The darkness deepens. Lord, with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, Lord, abide with me.
Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day.
Earth's joys grow dim. It's glories pass away.
Change and decay in all around I see.
O Thou who changest not, abide with me.
